all finished

My very first quilt is finally finished! It's all stitched, hand quilted and binding has been done. I thought it would just take a couple of months to complete but it took a whole 6 months (and it's only a cot sized quilt)! I've learnt a lot, mainly that these things take time and I've really enjoyed making it. Now it is all bundled up and ready to be sent to it's new home. The only thing is, I haven't been able to find any quilt labels that I like. I'm looking for something simple, does anyone have any ideas?

6 months is nothing! good work! i love the circles. (i usually just sharpie my name on the back to label - uncreative! - or embroider. what about fusible applique? you could make your own)

yeah, SIX MONTHS IS NOTHING, so just stop rubbing it in my face already. :-)

i've never found a label for a quilt i like either.

how about making a tag or something for it? how's that sound?

I love your quilt...and six months is nothing to sneeze at. Here's a link to a label I'd like to try someday:

Make your own! HP online has an activity/craft center with ideas/how-to for printing and creating your own labels, using pictures, photos, etc. And you can buy the fabric-paper for your inkjet printer at most craft/fabric stores. (They also sell a CD kit, but you don't need it to do this.)

you should be really proud. It is lovely.

re tags. I have never done this but have been thinking about it. You could buy stamps of the alphabet (spotlight or a scrapbooking shop..they are usually small) and some material and stamp your initials/name on. You just need a fabric ink or paint.
